You Am.

1:00 am
Katherine's head hit her pillow. (The softest pillow in the world really.)

6:12 am
Katherine wakes up on pure adrenaline hoping she didn't miss her alarm. (She did but she still got ready in time.)

6:59 am
Katherine walks to the bus stop in the freezing cold. (She had earmuffs and gloves on even though it is now April.)

7:14 am
Bus arrives. (But it passes her because it has to stop a certain amount of feet away from the corner everyday.)

7:22 am
Katherine steps onto school grounds. (Filled with dread.)

7:29 am
Katherine meets up with twins K and K to get help gluing her poster down. (This is where the consequences of staying up until 1:00 am start to affect her everyday actions.)

7:38 am
Bell rings to go to class. Katherine wipes away tears of hysterical laughter and tries to collect herself. (She can't. It's too funny.)

7:42 am
After dropping off her backpack in her class, she catches a glimpse of him on her way to wipe away her smeared mascara. (She thinks to herself, "Why does he have to look so good?")

7:45 am
Class starts and Katherine's head is filled with thoughts of what might happen, her assignments that are due, a renaissance dress that is waiting for her, him, and why she chose to be a procrastinator. (At this point, while staring at her computer screen, her brain began to melt and she turned into a bird and flew until she arrived in Hawaii. There she turned into a human again and enjoyed her days in the warm sunshine, getting her required 8 hours of sleep a night, and never worrying about anything again.)

8:24 am
Katherine's bloodshot eyes start to get sleepy. She begins to type; blogging frantically to keep herself awake. (To be honest, it doesn't help much.)

8:36 am
Katherine begins to question her sanity as she dies slowly of boredom. (Hoping to be productive for once in her life, she decides to finish her poster.)

Much Love & Spontaneity (and sleep),

Odes

Ode to Winter

Dearest Winter,
The coldest thing to penetrate my soul,
the slice of your bitter winds,
leave goosebumps uncomfortable on my skin.
To the only thing keeping the sun from
shining and my summer from beginning:

I FREAKING HATE YOU!!!!

Ode to Homework

Oh Homework!
How you creep up on me so!
I know of your existence,
well before the day you are due.
And yet, all my lack of preparation,
and days of procrastination,
can only make me loathe you.

Ode to that Girl

Blessed child.
Everyone knows you're faking it.

Ode to Linsey Brown

Oh Linsey,
The girl who scored a 71 on the test,
I couldn't compete,
but I tried my best.
And now dear sister,
I am more than stressed.

I quit.

Ode to my Mailbox

Perhaps I didn't make it clear,
my dear letter box.
When I check thee everyday,
I hope to hear,
In some way,
a response from those that
used to write
me.

Ode to the one that makes me Smile

You know the feeling,
I'm sure you're well aware,
that when I see your face,
I can feel your love & care.
Thank you for the rides home,
thank you for your calls,
and even though I'm pretty short,
thanks for making me feel 6 feet tall.

Ode to my Heels

Dearest Heels,
Are you the hottest thing on the planet?
Yes.
But thanks to your scorching beauty,
My toes and calves also burn.
However,
You'll always be my favorite shoes.

Ode to Summer

Why,
oh, all I ask is why,
hast thou left me to die
a delirious death
full of snow and soot
as the ashes of winter
refuse to leave this place?

When will you grace me
with your presence?

When will you free me
from the bonds of this
eternal period of winter chill?

Please dear summer,
do not make me wait still.

Much Love & Spontaneity,

Katherine

P.S. Write an "Ode to Something" today.
It's fun.

Untitled.

"When will my life begin?"

I am so tired.
This rainy weather is killing me. It's so hard to believe that just over 2 weeks ago I was in sunny California, toasting nicely in 84 degree weather.
This morning it rained a little on my way to the bus stop.
I wore my favorite scarf just to keep warm.
It's red and huge and knitted with love from my mother.

I have fruit snacks in my purse.

So today in web design we were supposed to create a link to a website for a national park in Moab.

Our teacher told us to type http://moab.org/ and guess what it lead to? :)

Men Overcoming Abusive Behavior

A support group.

It made me smile.

Later after school:

I started posting in school, then I returned after school to finish.
Anywho,

I'm stressed.
Like,
to the max.

I quit.
No,

I RAGE quit.

It's a good thing I have good friends to hug me and tell me that it's going to be fine.
Because if it weren't for them,

I'd be halfway to Californ-ia by now.

I hope the teachers are satisfied that they have screwed me over for this week.

Not as much Love & even less Spontaneity,

Katherine

A Loss of Words

I don't have a lot to say today.
I have been skipping my homework to read a lot though.
I need a recommendation of a new book to read...

This week is going to be busy, and I need to be ready.

Today is Easter Sunday.
I've had so much chocolate that I'm going to explode.
Implode.
Otherwise lose the contents of my stomach.
But other than that,
Today was fine. :)

Yesterday was even better.
Grandparents are so cute. I can't wait until I'm old and cute and I get to spoil children.
Until then, I will enjoy being beaten by them in a violent game.
I have scratches from a grandma :)

Anywho,
Here comes another week.
Let's get to it people.

Much Love & Spontaneity,

Happy Earth Day!

Today was sunny for the first time all week.
I wore a skirt in honor of spring.
I froze on my way to the bus stop this morning.
FROZE.

But I hitched a ride home.
Then my best friend called me and told me that we needed to plant something for Earth Day.
We then proceeded to plant a Lily.
Lilies are gorgeous.

One of my favorites.

Tomorrow is going to be an amazing day.
I can't wait.

Have a Happy Earth Day everyone! :)

I have to go tend a bawling baby sister.

Much Love & Spontaneity,

I Told You So

Didn't I say I was tired of school?

It's as true today as it was a week ago.
Probably even more so.

It's raining today...

But nevertheless, it is a Thursday.
I love Thursdays.
Mostly because no one really loves Thursdays. And I feel that Thursdays need some loving.
Plus, it's the day before Friday. And Fridays are the best.
I guess one could argue that no one really loves Mondays either...but that's not reason enough for me to love Mondays. I despise Mondays. (Sorry Monday. I bet someone else loves you.)

There are so many things that I wish I was doing today...
I want to go back to the beach...
I want school to be done...
I want a really nice camera so I can take loverly pictures where ever I go...
I want a Beatles T-Shirt...

But, as usual, my life remains ambiguous..
Which is just fine. :)

This weekend is going to be amazing.

Much Love & Spontaneity,

Katherine

I Got Your Runaway Smile...

I am aching for Summer.
The long, hot days...
The cool, starry nights....
No school.

I also didn't post very much about my Spring Break.
In the previous post were some pictures from Newport Beach. It is kind of heaven over there. I loved it so much. I seriously ran from the bus, through the parking lot, kicked off my shoes, and fell on the beach. It was gorgeous. If I lived there, I would probably never make it to school. I would be at the beach everyday.
I also visited Disneyland for the first time in my life. I love it there so much. It's wonderful. I'm sad that I only got to spend 2 days there. There is so much to do and so little time to do it!

I don't have much to say.
It rained today.
I want to dance in it.
But it is freezing.
So I didn't.
I think my best friend is coming over to dance with me now though...

So have a fantastical evening, day, whatever you call it ;)

I Will Return

I lost track of time
running with the waves and
away with my mind.

I've never felt so free,
nothing but sun and sand
between you and me.

With the world at our feet,
our toes at its shores,
life...

with open arms we greet.

Much Love & Spontaneity,

Katherine

Immobile

im·mo·bile

   [ih-moh-buhl, -beel]
–adjective
1. incapable of moving or being moved
2. not mobile or moving; motionless

I cannot move.
I am stuck in the past,
but eager for the future.
I wander in circles
as I try to figure where
I could possibly end up.

Which translates as:

I am freaking excited for tomorrow for several reasons:

1. It's Friday.
2. It's the Friday before SPRING BREAK!
3. There's a stag dance.
4. I love to dance.
5. We get the results of the elections tomorrow.
6. I get to make fruit dip for a barbecue. (Why doesn't barbecue have a "q" in it?)
7. It's Friday.
8. Spring Break is going to be the best.
9. Ever.
10. Um, I'm going to DISNEYLAND FOR THE FIRST TIME IN MY 17 YEARS OF LIFE!
11. It's the happiest place on Earth.
12. I am pretty much the happiest person on Earth.
13. It's Friday!!

*Insert a ridiculous amount of smileys here*

But until tomorrow,

I'm immobile.
My life hangs in limbo as I try not to freak out.

Have a fabulous day everyone!
Get all your homework done before the break!
One more day!

*More smileys*

Much Love, Excitement, Anticipation, & (of course) Spontaneity,

Katherine

The Windy City

There was a girl who lived in a windy city.
It wasn't the windy city.
But it was city that happened to have more air flow than the average town.
She enjoyed movies, popcorn, books, blankets, chocolate and Mexican food.
All at separate times of course.
Her name was Anne.

And she wanted to leave.

That is called flash fiction.

Write a story in 55 words or less.
I don't know if I like it yet.
It's hard.
I'm too wordy I guess. I have so many things I want to say.

I have a lot going on in my life right now. But, I lack the time and energy to describe them.
I will have to write later.

Much Love & Hope for Sleep,

Katherine
